Los Suenos fishing report the Good-Day-Too caught 2 Sailfish and 1 really small Mahi-Mahi, another Sailfish charter that turned into bottom fishing charter they caught 8 Grouper and 1 Snapper finish out the report from Los Suenos.

I did also see some other good information today that we usually don't think about while spending any time in Costa Rica and that is to pay no attention to any sort of online weather reports when you are looking ahead for your vacation. Most people will look at the weather for San Jose, at that area of Costa Rica is a completely different ecosystem, and their weather is completely different than what we have here on the Pacific Coast. So when you see that there are 100% chance of Rain and thunderstorms it probably isn't accurate as they tend to show that for every day from May – November and that's just not what we get. Now with that being said yes it is the rainforest and we do get rain but the chances of rain every day is just not realistic…

Flamingo fishing report 1 Blue Marlin, 6 Sailfish and 1 Mahi-Mahi was the catch today on the Wetass II.

Costa Rica fishing report June 10

Los Suenos fishing report a few Marlin in the spreads today but they crews just couldn't get them to take a hook, 5 Sailfish and 2 Mahi-Mahi was one report 4 Sailfish and 3 Mahi-Mahi was the other from Los Suenos.

Flamingo fishing report 3 Sailfish and 1 Mahi-Mahi was the report out of Papagayo.

First week of June in the books here in Costa Rica and the fishing reports have stayed pretty strong to start off the month. Offshore reports have included Blue Marlin, Black Marlin, Stripped Marlin, Sailfish, Mahi-Mahi and Yellow-fin Tuna. This has provided great fishing for those looking to not only catch a billfish but also looking to put some meat on the table. In-shore fishing has been a little up and down to start up the month, the trade off here has been either a few real quality fish, or more bites and smaller fish. Overall still been some good fishing for Roosterfish, Snook, Jack Crevalle and others have been in the reports for the first week of June. Continue reading to get the rest of the details in the daily reports below.

Los Suenos fishing report offshore was steady again today with 6 Sailfish and 2 Yellow-fin Tuna.

Costa Rica fishing report May 29

Manuel Antonio fishing report after just arriving yesterday todays plan was a half-day in-shore, mostly to look for bait for their offshore charter tomorrow. Los Suenos fishing report slow day offshore on a half-day they got totally skunked, this is why we don't recommend half-day offshore trips as if the fishing is slow the few hours of actual fishing time you get just don't give you the time they crews may need to get you into fish. In-shore on a hunt for Roosterfish all that was caught was 1 Amberjack.

Costa Rica fishing report March 29

Manuel Antonio fishing report Moonwalker caught 20 Sailfish and 1 Mahi-Mahi, IDRA II caught 1 Roosterfish, 1 Snapper, 1 Corvina and 1 Jack Crevalle on a half-day charter in-shore. In-shore charters are where it is best to only do a half-day if you are looking to save a little as there are a lot of great fishing areas close here in Manuel Antonio that you can get hooked up!!

Los Suenos fishing report Miss Behavin caught 16 of 25 Sailfish that they had hooked up, other reports we got in were 5 Sailfish, and one from a half-day offshore coming in smelling of Skunk with nothing caught to report. Again we need to stress that we don't recommend the half-day offshore charters, they really only save you an average of $200 so when you spend $1100.00 instead of $1300.00 this report is the prime example of this is not the time to try and save a few dollars, from 16 Sailfish to nothing, which would you rather?

Costa Rica fishing report March 27

Manuel Antonio fishing report was supposed to be day two for the group fishing with us on the Cowboy but they managed to get so sun burnt the first day that they weren't able to make it. Let this be a lesson for those of you reading that we HIGHLY suggest bringing lots of sun protection and sun tan lotion with you a minimum of 30 SPF when you are on an offshore, in-shore or any charter while you are here in Manuel Antonio. Pez Espada was offshore catching 5 Sailfish on a full-day charter.

Los Suenos fishing report Miss Behavin caught 1 of 2 Blue Marlin and 5 Sailfish, Good-Day-Too caught 3 Sailfish, other reports from the charter fleet read 12 Sailfish, 3 Sailfish and 1 Mahi-Mahi, 1 Blue Marlin and 3 Sailfish, 2 Sailfish and 1 Mahi-Mahi, on a half-day offshore a report of 1 Sailfish. We really don't ever recommend a half-day offshore as the fishing time you actually get is usually only about an hour and a half – 2 hours, and for the small difference in price the experience of a full day in comparison is not even close.

Los Suenos Triple Crown Day 2

Leg three of the Los Suenos Triple Crown day two saw another great day of fish totals with 465 Sailfish and 10 Marlin caught. The top 5 for the day were:

  • Team Galati with 28 Sailfish

  • Tarheel with 25 Sailfish
  • Sea Angel with 23 Sailfish
  • Gunsmoke with 20 Sailfish and 1 Marlin

Costa Rica fishing report March 26

Quepos / Manuel Antonio fishing report back into the fish today after a slower day yesterday the clients on the Three Brothers had an amazing day releasing 10 of 18 Sailfish that they had hooked up.

In-shore the last day for the group from New York and they were split up on 2 boats for some in-shore fishing. On the IDRA II released 6 Roosterfish, 6 Jack Crevalle, 1 Snapper and 1 Big Eye Jack, the other half was on the Marlin B and…… nada wow what a lopsided report for this group.

One of the craziest days I have ever seen here, not only 1 but 2 Tarpon were caught today in 2 totally different locations.

What an amazing treat for the lucky anglers fishing January 27 2015 just south of Quepos, they were fishing for Snook near one of the river mouths just south of Quepos / Manuel Antonio when they got the shock of a lifetime. Not know to even be in the area, and never targeted for this reason the Tarpon was hooked and and caused an amazing stir in the small fishing village of Quepos. fish-Quepos
Search – Before going to fishing in a particular area, it is very important to search regarding the area on the internet. You should not completely rely on the marketing material that is provided by the fishing tour company. Try to extract the recent information about that particular area and see whether it is the best time to go in there or not.

Cost – Some of the best fishing operation always get repeat business from a great reputation and their ability to catch fish. Sometimes there are cases where the fishing Charters charge more to the new clients as it becomes a supply and demand issue. It is advisable to be alert and not let them overcharge you. If you are going for fishing with friends then you should hire boat wisely. Refrain from hiring large boat for small group of people and ask questions as to what size of charter boat is required for your group of fishermen.

Weather – After selecting your fishing area make sure you do adequate research on weather of that area. You don’t want to be blown by a hurricane or get drenched in torrential rains while fishing. So, proper research of the weather is very vital for good fishing. Fortunately in Quepos Mar1 Sport Fishing don't have this problem in the Quepos, Costa Rica area, however the Guanacaste Area does get windy certain times of the year.
