Fishing report December 30 2012

Fishing Quepos today we had a big group starting out on day one of two days fishing and today the plan was to head offshore to see if we could get them into some Sailfish and were hoping that there were still some marlin in the area for them. We had the group split on three boats so there was lots of action to report from these fishing boats for you today here in Quepos

The top report of the three boats was the Big Eye with Captain Franklin he had a great day raising a lot of fish they figure at least 14 Sailfish cam at the baits and they managed to release 4 or the 8 Sailfish that they had hooked. With a group of this size we were also hoping to put some food on the table for them that night for supper as well and they managed to get 2 of the 3 Dorado that they had hooks in as well so they were going to eat good tonight back at the beautiful home they are staying at in Manuel Antonio.

Second in the fishing report today was the Blur Pearl 2 with Captain Christian and they had a great day as well raising 12 Sailfish of those they hooked up 7 and released 3 Sailfish, they did not however manage to help out for supper getting no Dorado but they still had a great day of fishing.

Last place of the three Quepos fishing boats was the Costa Brava with Captain Oscar, this however isn't really a fair fishing evaluation as they had a few get sick and they headed back around noon but they still managed to raise 5 Sailfish, hooked three of them and released one Sailfish out of that so they also had a good day of fishing even though they headed back to Quepos early.

Fishing reports for the rest of the fleet today had the Fastrak releasing six of eight Sailfish that they had hooked up as well as two Dorado for Supper. The Rayo De Sol released nine of twelve Sailfish that they had hooked and also got two Dorado for supper.

Fishing out of Quepos is still hot hot hot so let us get you hooked up fishing Quepos today as the upcoming months will fill up quick!

Fishing the Sea Hawk today we had return clients down for 2 days of fishing here in Quepos and the first of two days fishing here they started out with a band as they went 0 for 2 on Marlin 5 for 9 Sailfish and still managed a couple of Dorado for the dinner table that they had cooked up at the Gran Escape here in Quepos.

Los Sueños fishing reports for today were as amazing as the ones from Quepos and there was a pile of them as well to share which is always nice to hear, usually lots of reports means lots of great fishing in the area! OK here we go for the Los Sueños Fishing reports they go like this 8 for 16 on Sailfish, another 6 for 8 Sailfish and 2 for 2 Blue Marlin, another7 for 18 on Sailfish and the last was 5-14 Sailfish.

What a great day to be out on the water fishing here in Costa Rica if you were fishing anywhere today there was an abundance of fish out the for the catching so let get out fishing today!

Fishing Report December 27 2012

Fishing Quepos today we had a group out on the Blue Pearl 2 32' Hatteras, and most of these anglers had never been offshore fishing for Sailfish and Marlin so they were in for a great day of excitement. With a great day for weather here in Quepos they headed home and when they returned there was big smiles on all of their faces as the 4 anglers managed to release 5 of the 11 Sailfish that they had hooked up.

Los Sueños fishing reports were as good if not better but the first one takes the cake, you got to love when you get a report off both their boats as well as the house that they are staying in. So the report from the Good Day team in Los Sueños reads as, Good day 31' 3 Sailfish released on conventional tackle and one Sailfish on the fly. Good Day Too released 15 Sailfish and kept a couple Mahi-Mahi fir dinner, and the house was 2 Scarlet Macaws and # Toucans. Welcome to Costa Rica folks.

Quepos Fishing Report December 25 2012

Fishing Quepos today there was a few boats out offshore fishing trying to stay with the great bite that we have had here in Quepos as of late. The Fastrak was able to capitalize on the great bite and managed to release 1 Blue Marlin, they went 6 for 8 on Sailfish and boated 4 Dorado for supper.

Other fishing reports had clients releasing 4 of 6 Sailfish and landing a couple Dorado. Chasing Bills landed 8 BIG Dorado in 3 hours of fishing before they headed back to the dock

Fishing out of Flamingo Mr. Trigger went 4 for 5 on Sailfish and had a Marlin up in the spread but couldn't get it to commit to a bait.

Quepos Fishing Report December 24 2012

Fishing today was the Fastrak out on a half day of inshore fishing with a big group and they had a great day of fishing but not quite the day that was had fishing in the next report. However the Fastrak did manage to also release 3 nice Rooster fish

Fishing Quepos today the report is coming from a half day inshore fishing, and this report is well beyond spectacular!! ON a half day of inshore Quepos fishing the clients released 3 Rooster fish, now this is not a rare occurrence that you would release 3 Rooster fish in one day however one of the Rooster fish was a reported 90 plus Pounds!!! Now that would have been the fight of a lifetime, it would have been like trying to release a freight train. Another great day fishing Quepos.

Quepos Fishing Report December 23 2012

Fishing Quepos today we had a family out on the Fastrak here in Quepos. For a few of these anglers it was their first time fishing offshore for Sailfish, Marlin, Mahi-Mahi etc. They were hoping that Santa Clause was coming early for them and as they left the Marina Pez Vela we wished them all of the best in hopes that they have a great day of Quepos Fishing.

Quepos today was a great day until the late afternoon when the skies opened up and the rain started to pour down on us, however that did not damper the spirits of the fishermen on the Fastrak and when they returned they had some amazing stories of the amazing day of fishing Quepos they had.

The total fish count for the anglers today on the Fastrak in Quepos was 5 for 8 Sailfish released, as well as one Mahi-Mahi for supper so overall a great day of fishing in Quepos.

Other fishing reports for Quepos today had a boat out on a three quarter day of fishing and they managed to release 1 of 3 Sailfish and 1 Blue Marlin that was estimated 500 plus pounds, now that's fishing Quepos!!

Quepos Fishing Report December 2012 week 3

Quepos Fishing Report December 22 2012

Fishing Reports from Los Sueños today were very good as well with a report of releasing 4 of 5 Sailfish and raising 2 Marlin with some Dorado as well.

Fishing in Quepos today we had an impromptu trips on the Mirce Azul with just Captain Luis and two of us with a plan to look for some sardines and see what happens. You got a love those calls that start with "Do you want to go fishing" and "can you be here in 30 minutes " which the answer you hope to say is yes and yes i can.

We did not manage to find much for sardines but we did manage to get a bunch of Spanish Mackerel, some Jack Crevalle, some skip jacks, Snappers and just had a blast with good weather we had a great afternoon fishing with Captain Luis on the Mirce Azul.

Quepos Fishing Report December 21 2012

Fishing in Quepos continued to be fantastic today, with a good bite and clean water close, so that means more fishing time without the run out and some great fishing to go along with it.

Quepos Fishing Report December 20 2012

Fishing Report from Quepos today starts off with a little advise my friends, and that is don't look at the "weather forecast" and then make your decision to fish the next day based on that. We send our condolences to the group that looked at the weather and decided to cancel late last night because the boats that fish did fish Quepos today had amazing days.

Quepos fishing today produced reports that were truly world class fishing reports. Costa Brava released 2 Black Marlin, lost a Blue Marlin and still fit in going 1 for 3 on Sailfish and two Dorado. Another great day of fishing in Quepos.

Quepos Fishing Report December 19 2012

Fishing Quepos on the Mirce Azul today we had a split fishing charter head out with 2 guys on the Mirce Azul with Luis and Johnny for a day of offshore fishing. They had a great time fishing with this crew as anyone who has ever fished with these guys will tell you they are a blast to fish with.

Fishing was good right off the bat for them today as they got into the Mahi Mahi early and caught a couple in real quick succession, then a Sailfish in to mix it up. Then the mid day bite slowed and there was some time around lunch that we all dread and that is when that bite turns cold, but that's fishing right?

The fishing report ends them off going 1 for 3 on Sailfish and they boated 5 Mahi Mahi so that's a good day of fishing for two anglers.

Reports from Los Sueños were also good today with multiple Sailfish releases as well as a couple Marlin releases as well as some Dorado's sprinkled into the fishing reports.

Quepos Fishing Report December 18 2012

Fishing report from Quepos today we had clients heading out on the Big Eye with Captain Franklin for a half day of inshore fishing. The weather for today was not looking promising for those heading to the beach but real good for the anglers with a nice layer of clouds to keep the sun off of them, unfortunately these clouds were full of rail and man did it come down in Quepos.

Fishing report for the group on the Big Eye however was rather short as more than a couple of the group got to not feeling good and they came back way too early as they had three good bites and released one Rooster fish before they headed back to Quepos.

Quepos fishing offshore today the charter boats that headed offshore had good fishing with many Sailfish releases a few Marlin being spotting and some good Mahi Mahi catches as well.

Quepos Fishing Report December 16-17 2012

Fishing Quepos reports over the last few days have been few and far between, there seems to be little blip in the action for the fleet here in Quepos as we get ready for the Christmas rush to get here with fishermen looking for their presents from Santa. As visions of Sailfish jumping go through their heads.

Fishing report from the Mirce Azul for the 17th was amazing inshore fishing, with a couple nice Rooster fish and monster Rooster fish, they topped that of with a few Snappers and a bunch of Mackerel.

Fishing Quepos today we had a couple from Holland out on the Mirce Azul for a day of offshore fishing. The plan today was to get this fisherman a few fish that he had never caught before, and being that he had never been offshore fishing for the big game fish we have here it should be no problem.

Fishing totals for them today on the Mirce Azul the released 1 of 3 Sailfish and a few Dorado, they started the morning off where the Mirce Azul had such great luck yesterday but what a difference a day makes as there was nada so they went looking for fish and they still managed to have a great day fishing with Mar 1 Sport Fishing.

Quepos Fishing Report December 5-6 2012

Fishing Quepos the reports were growing as the Sailfish are starting to arrive and there was still a lot of Marlin around the Quepos Area for clients that are fishing in Quepos. The last traces of the bad water that we had going through here last month are gone and the water offshore has been great.

Quepos Fishing Report December 4 2012

Fishing Quepos we had a group out on the Mirce Azul today for a half day of inshore fishing. Now with that being said we always expect some great reports and stories from the clients when they fish with Louis and Jonny on the Mirce Azul because they are always up to something… but the Fishing report from today started out with two Mahi Mahi… wait a minute they were supposed to be inshore fishing but they got them right out front of the river. They also managed to get a bunch of Mackerel as well as a couple Snapper so another great day fishing on the Mirce Azul.

Fishing Report for Costa Rica November 2012

Fishing Reports started out Thanks giving week here in Quepos with a bang, you would have thought that all of the Marlin were here in Quepos to give thanks!!

Fishing Quepos finishes out our fishing reports for November as we look into the month of December. The last few days of November saw rising numbers of fish being released so as we go into December we hope to see these number start to increasingly grow as we move into the fishing season.

Fishing was really good for the past couple days with Marlin still being hooked up as well as the numbers of Sailfish released moving up to the 5-8 releases per day. Yellow fin tuna have also made it in to the catch reports. So good numbers and multiple species being reported on charters is a good sign of the fishing to come.

Quepos Fishing Report November 24-28 2012

Quepos was the place to be this week if you were planning on targeting Mahi Mahi as they were definitely out there for the catching in great numbers. The Marlin and Sailfish seemed to stay consistent at the same level as last week.

Quepos Fishing Report November 24 2012

Fishing out of Los Suenos today was the 36' Good Day Too for a full day of offshore fishing and they had a "Good Day" releasing 4 of 7 Sailfish that they had on and also put a Mahi-Mahi on the boat for the clients for supper.

Quepos Fishing Report November 23 2012

Fishing day three of their fishing holiday all that was on the minds of the fisherman was Sailfish and Marlin as they headed off this morning on the Blue Pearl 2. Fishing was good for them today and they managed to release 3 of 7 Sailfish they had in the spread as well as a couple of Mahi Mahi for supper. We were lucky enough to get an invite to feast on the Mahi as well and we took the group out to Rancho Leon and had them cook it up for us, they did an amazing job as they always do out at Rancho Leon.

Fishing as well today was Captain Oscar o the Costa Brava and they had a great day of fishing as well as they managed to release 1 of 3 Marlin and 2 of 5 Sailfish and finished off the day with a Mahi Mahi.

Fishing Quepos Report November 22 2012

Fishing in Quepos today was another day of fishing with the numbers in the OK range but as the fishing season heats up and the fishing reports start to come in we are looking at what looks to be a great fishing season here in Quepos.

Fishing Quepos Report November 21 2012

Fishing today on the Mirce Azul was day two for clients on their three day fishing holiday and they were looking for some Rooster fish. With the inshore bite a little slow we knew that we had the clients on the right boat to get them on the fish, this crew will do whatever it takes to get fish in the boat.

Fishing started off with a bang in the morning and almost immediately they had a nice Rooster fish. on and managed to get it to the boat for a release so it was looking like it was going to be a great day. However the quick bite soon died off and they waited quite a while for the second one and by this time 2 of the clients weren't feeling well so they brought the two ladies back to the pier and then headed off again looking for that good bite that started off the day.

The afternoon turned out to be a great one and they managed to release another 2 Rooster fish. one pushing the 50 pound mark as well as some Spanish Mackerel that they left for the crew to have for supper. Over all a great day to be out on the Mirce Azul

Fishing offshore today we had a large group come in from Dominical to fish offshore on the Blue Pearl 2 and the Costa Brava. Both groups had shots at Marlin and Sailfish but couldn't get any releases and by the time they returned they had enough Mahi Mahi and Yellow fin Tuna to feed the entire group of 50 they had staying in Dominical which is what they were looking for so they were very happy fishermen when they returned from their full day of offshore fishing out of Quepos.

Fishing Quepos Report November 20 2012

Fishing offshore today the crews were able to get into some Mahi Mahi and Yellow Fin Tuna but the Sailfish and Marlin were just not hungry short striking baits and just making a mess of ballyhoo.

Fishing Quepos Report November 19 2012

Fishing on their first day of three here in Quepos we had clients out on the Blue Pearl 2 today for a day of Offshore fishing to start off the fishing part of their vacation. A good Day was had by all going 0 for 3 on Marlin and 0 for 2 on Sailfish, the fish just weren't cooperating today and getting a good hook set seemed to be an issue for everyone that we talked to today. The crews were also still fighting the Red Water that has been offshore a few miles but it seems to be cleaning up so we hope to be into some good water and great fishing in the next few days to come.

Los Suenos Fishing Reports November 19 2012

Fishing today were both of the Good Day Boats out of Los Suenos. The Good Day 31' managed to release 1 of 3 Sailfish, and a Blue Marlin estimated at a little over 300 pounds. The Good Day Too matched the Blue Marlin release as well they caught 3 Mahi Mahi and two Yellow Fin Tuna one was 60 pounds and the other was 80 Plus so they had a great day as well.

Quepos Fishing Report November 18 2012

Today was an amazing day for anglers here in Quepos, and the reports were... let me just say that most were more entertaining coming from the Captains in person when they came in their body language said it all.

Captain Luis on the Mirce Azul had another amazing day fishing Quepos waters and at one point of the day they had 4 Marlin in the spread all at the same time, I could just imagine the excitement on that little boat as they tried to hook them all, they did manage to hook 2 of the 4 but didn't manage to release either as the fish crossed lines and the excitement was over just as quickly as it started. They did manage to release 2 of 4 Sailfish and 6 Mahi Mahi.

Also fishing today out of Quepos, Costa Rica was the Sea Lady who managed to catch 7 Mahi Mahi, 1 Yellow Fin Tuna and 1 Jack so they had a great day of fishing as well.

Fishing Report November 17-18 2012 Los Suenos

Fishing out of Los Suenos both these days the Good Day boats were busy. The Good Day 31' was out on the 17th and released 1 of 3 Sailfish that they had hooked up, had a Blue Marlin on but weren't able to get it to the boat.

November 18 the Good Day Too was out looking for the Marlin that got away yesterday and were able to release 1 Blue Marlin, 3 of 5 Sailfish, and three Mahi Mahi with one of the Mahi Mahi close to an estimated 70 pounds! What a fish

Fishing is heating up and so is the weather here in Costa Rica. The fishing season is starting for us as we look forward to a busy season here in Quepos, Costa Rica. As the fishermen start to come in higher numbers as we work up to Thanksgiving we are also getting a lot more fishing reports in as there are more of the Charter fleet heading out to get fish on board. There are also a lot of Marlin still out there for the taking as well and the Sailfish are starting to return for better release numbers.

November 11 - 12 2012

Fishing out of Los Suenos the Good Day Too was out for some off shore fishing and they were able to release 3 of 5 Sailfish and had a Marlin almost commit to one of the baits, however after a little excitement they weren't able to get the Marlin hooked up.

another report out of Los Suenos today had one of the Charter fleet raising a few Blue Marlin, released a couple Sailfish then also did well doing some bottom fishing for supper.

November 12 2012 the Good Day Too was offshore again but were only able to release 1 of 3 Sailfish and had a nice Striped Marlin up in the spread but again were not able to get the fish to commit to a bait.

Fish Report for the beginning of November

The fishing here in Costa Rica has had anglers catching a mixed variety of fish species, there hasn't been a really great bite here but the experienced crews have been able to get anglers on to fish with a variety of different fishing styles to keep the rods bent. There have been some good reports in with Marlin, Sailfish, Yellow Fin Tuna and Mahi Mahi not in the numbers we like to see here in Costa Rica but it's also nice to be able to put multiple fish species on the boat for the anglers as well.

Costa Rica Fishing Report for October 2012

Fishing in Costa Rica has been excellent for the first few weeks of October as the feeding frenzy continues. Fishing out of Quepos and Los Suenos has treated anglers to some amazing days of fishing

Fishing Report for the end of October

Fishing out of Quepos still had the Mahi Mahi in the double digits for anglers looking for a tasty dinner this week. However the Sailfish and Marlin are proving to be quite elusive in their travels and haven't been in quite the numbers that people like to have when they are fishing in Costa Rica.

As we roll up October we would like to wish you all a happy Halloween as we move into the month of November and the busy season here in Quepos. Don't forget to make you fishing reservations soon for the upcoming fishing season as the dates are already booking up quite quickly so book now for the best dates possible.

Fishing Report for October week three

Fishing out of Quepos this week we had the Sea Lady going out for us 3 times so we were hoping that they were going to keep the anglers busy. The weather has also turned around and the winds have died down making it a lot nicer for those heading out of Quepos for some fishing.

October 22 2012 we had a group heading out for a day of offshore fishing on the Sea Lady and they were not able to get a hook into the few Sailfish that were up in the spread they did manage to catch 5 Mahi Mahi so they were able to get a few nice meals out of that day of fishing.

October 26 and 27 the plan was to head offshore for day one and inshore for day two of their fishing holiday, day one was a great one and they managed to catch 8 Mahi Mahi, however they weren't lucky enough to get any Sailfish releases and that was what they were after so.... inshore fishing for day two was cancelled and instead they decided to do another day of offshore fishing.

October 27 they were out for redemption and the release of what seemed to be an elusive Sailfish here in Quepos as of late. Well again no Sailfish for the crew but they did manage to get another 15 Mahi Mahi so needless to say they are not going to starve on their fishing holiday here in Quepos / Manuel Antonio Costa Rica.

Fishing Report for October week two

Fishing Quepos Costa Rica this week the bite seemed steady for the anglers out on charters. There were reports of Marlin still in the area and still some great Sailfish numbers as well. The Mahi Mahi have been in big schools as well keeping everyone on their toes. There was also some Yellow fin Tuna boated towards the end of the week.

Fishing reports again full of great reports including lots of Marlin and Sailfish some of the highlights were:

Fishing Report out of Los Suenos had a group going 2 for 3 with Blue Marlin, as well as 5 for 13 on the Sailfish and then landing so many Mahi Mahi that they lost count. Now any day out fishing where you actually loose count.... well that's a good day of fishing and to top that off with the great marlin and Sailfish bite!!

Fishing report October week one

Fishing reports for the week were amazing full of Marlin, Sailfish, Mahi Mahi and some Yellow fin tuna. A couple of the highlights were. Going 2 for five with Blue Marlin, Releasing 1 of 4 Sailfish that came in the spread, to top that off the managed around 15 or 20 Mahi Mahi in the 15-35 pound range.

Another great fishing report from Los Suenos had the 36' Good Day Too out and the managed to release 3 blue Marlin, 3 for 6 Sailfish, and a bunch of Mahi Mahi as well as 1 tuna \ 40pounds. What a Good Day on the Good Day Too

Costa Rica Fishing Report for September 2012

Fishing report for Costa Rica and the month of September 2012 looks to be starting out really strong! The weather has been great for this time of year and there have been lots of great sunny fishing days with flat seas and an abundance of fish to be caught.

Costa Rica Fishing Report finishes out September 2012

Fishing reports finished out September great here in Costa Rica, there were some great reports in for the last week of September that all seemed to have the same tune to them and that was that there were a lot of Marlin up in the spreads they just weren't quite committing to the baits.

Fishing reports also had the nice ring of lots of fish and happy clients getting off the Charter Boats at the end of the day with good numbers despite the Marlin up teasing them in the spread. Sailfish were still being released as well in good numbers, there seemed to be a lot of Dorado in the Quepos area while there were some good Tuna Reports as well out of Los Suenos.

Inshore fishing reports seemed to be a little hard to come by this week, there just wasn't that many boats lucky enough to be heading out for the inshore species, but those who did had great days of inshore fishing.

Costa Rica Fishing Report September 2012

Fishing reports stayed strong for the rest of the third week here in Costa Rica, from Quepos to Los Suenos all of the reports were full of some amazing days of fishing here in Costa Rica. Costa Rica Fishing Report September 17 2012

Fishing report for clients on the Blue Pearl 2 for day 3 of their fishing holiday with us here in Costa Rica, and did they finish off with a bang! Let's just say that today they spent almost the entire day fighting some great fish, from a couple nice Sailfish and then have a Big Marlin finish off the day for you eating up almost half the day on the fight, great job boys.

Now you know that you are having a great vacation in Costa Rica when you come fish for three days and have 3 fantastic days of fishing, these guys got to fight two marlin over the three days of fishing , released a bunch of nice Sailfish and still managed to squeeze a nice half day of inshore fishing into their holiday.

Costa Rica Fishing Report September 16 2012

Fishing report for today courtesy of clients on the Mirce Azul here in Quepos for a half day of inshore fishing. When we put clients on the Mirce Azul we know that whatever the fishing is like any certain day that they are going to have a great time out with these guys, what a great crew on the Mirce Azul. A great time was had by all and they had some really good bites and action but were not able to get any good pictures for us.

Costa Rica Fishing Report September 15 2012

Fishing Report for today out of Quepos we have a couple reports worth mentioning both are offshore reports. We had clients out on the Blue Pearl 2 today and they had a fantastic day of fishing, with just the 2 of them on board they stayed very busy going 4 for 6 on Sailfish and they also got a shot at a nice Blue Marlin that came up to take a bait out of the spread as well, unfortunately the fight with the Marlin was short lived as it managed to release itself after a short fight.

Another Fishing report from Quepos had a group out chasing some supper that managed to do exactly that as they landed a few nice Mahi- Mahi in the 50 pound range as well as a couple nice Yellow Fin Tunas to top it off.

Costa Rica Fishing Report September 13 - 14 2012

Fishing report from Quepos and Los Suenos over the past few days were a little slower, however there weren't many boats out to fish either, but those that were still managed to put the fish in the boat so that's what we like to hear and report.

Costa Rica Fishing Report September 12 2012

Fishing report from Quepos today had the same nice consistent bite going on Offshore with boats releasing 2-4 Sailfish.

Costa Rica Fishing Report September 10 2012

Fishing report out of Los Suenos today had another great day of fishing, Sailfish releases from 3-5 as well as some Yellow Fin Tuna. The weather again today was great for fishing with nice calm seas to keep anglers comfortable.

Costa Rica Fishing Report September 9 2012

Fishing Report from Quepos today was another steady day of fishing for both the offshore as well as the inshore fisherman ready to do battle on their Costa Rica fishing holiday. Offshore fishing reports had boats releasing 2-5 Sailfish with some Marlin in the spread as well as some Mahi - Mahi for dinner. Inshore fishing reports had the inshore boats tearing it up as well with not only HUGE Roosterfish in the report but double digits on Snapper wow talk about having your cake and eating it too!!!

Costa Rica Fishing Report September 7 - 8 2012

Fishing report for the last couple of days the inshore fishing out of Los Suenos has been amazing, with some Big Roosterfish being caught.

Costa Rica Fishing Report September 6 2012

Fishing Report from Los Suenos today had the Good Day Team out on the Good Day Too for a day of offshore fishing. They had a good day releasing 1 Sailfish and also managing to catch 6 Yellow Fin Tuna in the 30 - 40 pound range.

Costa Rica Fishing Report September 3 2012

Fishing Report out of Los Suenos today had a few boats inshore fishing with great results. There were just as many techniques used today as there were species caught. From live baiting, jigging as well as some popping producing a few different species from Roosterfish, Snapper, Jacks as a few other species. Some forget that Costa Rica also boasts a great inshore fishery to go along with the world class offshore fishing.

Costa Rica Fishing Report September 2 2012

Fishing report from Quepos today where there was a good bite for Sailfish and Mahi-Mahi. The fishing report for today in Quepos anglers were having multiple Sailfish releases as well a getting something for a great meal after a great day of fishing in Quepos.

Fishing Report August 31 2012

The good Day Team was back at it today with a half day on Good Day Too, what an amazing half day they were able to raise 2 Marlin and released one Blue Marlin in the 250 pound range, now that's what I call a great half day of fishing in Costa Rica

Fishing Report August 23 2012

The Good Day team was up in Flamingo on our 31' boat and in 2 days of fishing the Good Day Team released 10 sailfish + 8 yellow fin tunas in the 30 to 70 pounds range , raised 5 marlins.

As usual for this time of year, Guanacaste is the place to be. Lots of sails and some marlin are being reported as well as some "bull-sized" dorado. Further north, outside Santa Rosa, lots of wahoo are being caught as well as dinner-sized snapper.

Fishing Report August 19 2012

Another report from Los Suenos....where'd the Quepos Captains go this week??? Out of Los Suenos today an inshore fishing trip turned into a fabulous day with 10 Roosterfish!!

Tarpon Fishing

Tarpon fishing had been red hot until the ocean came up yesterday. Most of the fish are 50-60 pound teenagers, but they are everywhere. Anglers putting in the effort are taking 3-4 snook a day at the police post at Agua Dulce near Barra del Colorado. When the ocean calms down, the fishing should be great again.

Not a whole lot has changed on the fishing scene. On the Pacific side, the slowest action this week was down south. The billfish have been in hiding, and only some really nice roosters in the 40-pound range and some 20-30-pound cubera snapper have been saving the day for boats going out.

Further up the coast, Marlon up at Primo Tackle in Herradura reports that sails have been hit and miss but boats are averaging 2-4 sails per trip. Most boats have been splitting the day between sails and bottom fishing for grouper, which has been good but not red hot.

Fishing Report August 19 2012

Another successful day out of Los Suenos with a charter boat reporting 4 for 7 Sailfish releases and a nice Yellow Fin Tuna

Fishing Report August 17 2012

Fishing reports from Los Suenos today had a charter boat going 5 for 8 on Sailfish and also caught a nice Dorado. It's too bad that there aren't more people around in this time of year that we could get out for these great days of fishing in Costa Rica

Fishing Report August 16 2012

Fishing out of Quepos today was the same boat from the JP crew out again that that managed the great 3/4 day yesterday so with a full day today they were hoping to start racking up the releases. However this was one of those days that the saying "fishing and not catching" came into play as it was a lot slower today, even with the entire day to work with they managed to release only 1 Sailfish.. Better luck next time boys!

Fishing Report August 15 2012

Fishing Report in from Quepos again today from the JP crew out offshore looking for some Sailfish on a 3/4 day of fishing. At the end of the short day of fishing they had 3 Sailfish releases to brag about when they got back to the dock, 3 Sailfish in a 3/4 day that's a good day of fishing there my friends.

Fishing Report August 9 2012

Fishing reports from Quepos for today had the 34' Sea lady offshore and did they have a stellar day managing to release 2 Sailfish, 1 Snapper and 5 small Yellow Fin Tuna.

Fishing Report August 6 2012

Again our fishing report for today was from the Good Day Team fishing out of Los Sueños. With both of their boats out again today the 31' Good Day managed to release 4 sailfish and 1 mahi for dinner. The 36' Good Day Too managed to release only 2 sailfish.

Fishing Report 5 August 2012

The fishing reports today had the Offshore bite was a little slow so the crew diversified and went inshore fishing, caught a monster Rooster, plus a couple others and some Groupers for dinner from 15-30 pounds. This is what makes a great trip, a crew that know how to make a day of fishing great no matter what the bite is like.

Fishing Report 4 August 2012

The fishing report out of Los Sueños today from the Good Day Team from both boats today, the 31'Good Day had a half day at the 26 rock and got 4 yellow fin tuna plus 1 Wahoo . The 36' Good Day too released 4 sailfish and 1 30 pound Mahi Mahi for dinner.

Fishing Report August 1 2012

Out of Los Sueños for their first trip of the month the Good Day boat was off to not a bad start they released 1 Rooster Fish around 60 pounds , 1 Rooster Fish around 40 pounds , a nice jack and few other in-shore fish

Guanacaste and the North Pacific was the hotspot this week, with anglers pretty much picking and choosing what they want to catch. There were a lot of marlin and Silfish for the taking offshore, and schools of Wahoo have been moving in and out of the area. Wahoo to 60 pounds have been hitting the fishing reports of late. Inshore, the bite is strong for roosterfish, snapper and amberjack.

In the Central Pacific region of Los Sueños and Quepos, things are a little slower. Boats out of Los Sueños are working hard to bring one or two sails up in the spread. A lot of boats are opting for the good bite on reefs for grouper and snapper.

In Quepos, the sails' bite is a little better but still nothing to jump up and down about, and a few tuna have been taking up the slack.

Down south, there have been plenty of marlin, but a lack of anglers to chase them. John Bretza of Okuma Tackle had his son Zander took a 300-pound blue marlin offshore and a couple of nice roosterfish near the beach.

On the Caribbean, boats are getting outside and finding tarpon bunched up between Tortuguero and Barra del Colorado. Boats have been hooking four to six per day. Inside, the snook bite continues to be good inside the Tortuguero river mouth and some snapper are hitting lures in the same area.

Fishing reports for Quepos, Los Suenos and the Pacific coast of Costa Rica for the beginning of July have been nothing short of fantastic as fishing usually is here in Quepos.

Fishing reports including multiple daily releases of Marlin in a day, as well as a good Sailfish bite.

In-shore reports out of Quepos have also been great as the fishing in Quepos heats up again for the clients coming to fish in Costa Rica!

Fishing has been FANTASTIC

Fishing Quepos for the last week was all about the Yellow Fin Tuna, great numbers and there was some big ones in the reports as well.

Yellow Fin Tuna fishing so good that there were a few boats that started the day fishing in-shore and then heard the radio chatter and boats calling for back up as there was so many fish in these giant schools of Yellow Fin Tuna.

Quepos Fishing Day 2 is a success

Quepos Fishing Day 1 is in the books

Quepos fishing day one for clients they were offshore today for a full day of offshore action here in Quepos.

Quepos fishing report for the clients day one was 2 Wahoo and a few Tuna.

Fishing Costa Rica

Fishing Costa Rica lately there have been some satisfied fishermen, withe a strong Sailfish and Mahi-Mahi bite for the beginning of May we hop it stays around.

Fishing Costa Fishing report for July 2012

Fishing report for July 23 - 31 2012

Fishing reports for the last week or so of July here in Costa Rica have been staying pretty consistent, providing anglers fishing in Costa Rica what they were looking for and that is great fishing that we offer here. This week however the Marlin bite seemed to pick up a little over last week and that was exciting for everyone heading out to fish on the fleet of charter boats.

Fishing Report July 31 2012

Fishing Reports for today had a mixed bag of fish caught, they consisted of Sailfish and Yellow Fin Tuna in the 40-50# size and that kept the anglers busy today as even those size of Yellow Fin Tuna can put out some amazing battles before you can get them on the boat.

Fishing Report July 29 2012

Fishing Reports from today were not quite as exciting as yesterdays but there were a couple good reports of doing battle with the fish here in Costa Rica. One of these reports had an angler catching a great Yellow Fin Tuna in the 150# range on a ....Popper yes that's right a Popper could you imagine the fight this angler had?? That fish would have put up a great fight on conventional 30# and 50# gear but on Spinning gear... what a battle it must have been.

Another report in from Los Suenos had a group releasing 4 of the 7 Sailfish that they had come into the spread and take baits. So over all there were some good stories made up today here in Costa Rica.

Fishing Report July 28 2012

Fishing out of Los Suenos today anglers on the Good Day Too managed to have what some would call an "alright day" ... well no many, most would have described it as an "amazing day of fishing".

What happened today for these anglers it what you would call an Offshore Grand Slam by the IFGA which consists of catching 3 of the specified species (Blue, Black, Striped or White Marlin, Sailfish, Swordfish or Spearfish) however to be granted into this prestigious club of anglers the IFGA also states that the 3 species need to be caught by the same angler to qualify for this acknowledgement.

Unfortunately today these species were not all caught by the same angler but the fact of the matter is that they had a great day of fishing here in Costa Rica managing to release 1 Blue Marlin, 1 Striped Marlin and 1 Sailfish so the numbers and species for the Grand Slam were there they just needed to let one angler do all of the fishing and now what fun is that???

On a side not there is another category here for you to add on your bucket list and that is the next step up and it is referred to a "Super Grand Slam" and that consists of one angler catching 4 of the allowable species of Billfish, a feat that only 15 anglers have ever qualified for by the IFGA so come on down to Costa Rica to fish and see if you can master the Grand Slam or the all illusive Super Grand Slam!

Fishing report for July 15 - 22 2012

Costa Rica Fishing reports are off the hook for this week, basically anyone that was lucky enough to be fishing the Pacific coast of Costa Rica this week was greatly rewarded with some not only amazing catches but some great stories to go along with them so here we go.

Fishing Report July 22 2012

Fishing reports for today were saturated with Yellow Fin Tuna one report was of 20+ some were released and a few made it back to shore for supper. There were also a few Sailfish released on the fleet of fishing boats as well but the Tuna were the story for today's fishing reports.

Fishing Report July 21 2012

Fishing reports like this make us all realize why we do what we do, sometimes you are in the right place at the right time and are able to make some ones fishing dreams come true. This is one of those great stories.

Our good friends at the Good Day Team out of Los Suenos had a client call for a last minute booking for the next day with a request to fill a dream, and a tall order it was. He wanted to catch and release a marlin tomorrow for his 70th birthday, and as always they told the client that they would try their best as they always do for him so that they could make his dream a reality.

After finishing up the reservation for the boat for the next day and getting the crew up to speed on what they were in for the trip all they could do was hope that the fish gods were on his side and that they would be lucky enough to make his dream a reality.

This is where this fishing report takes off for this client fishing on the Good Day Too out of los Suenos, the morning bite started off in a positive way and he was able to release 2 of 4 Sailfish that took baits out of the spread, but still no Marlin, there was still a lot of time left in the day so they all had high hopes that they could offer a Marlin release to this client as a 70th birthday wish.

As the afternoon seemed to drag on the crew were able to land him 3 nice Yellow Fin Tuna, however the clock was ticking away and the dream of a Marlin was starting to slip away. Around 2 pm all of a sudden there was a crash in the spread and as fast as the mate jumped on the rod and set the hook the Blue Marlin leaped out of the water and they were hooked up!!! Now it was up to the client, after a great fight they were able to release the estimated 300# Blue Marlin at the side of the boat and made this clients birthday wish a reality.

Fishing Report July 20 2012

Fishing report out of Los Suenos with rough seas and storm on the way out to keep everyone on their toes, however they stuck it out and in the end it was all worth it as they managed to catch a total of 8 Yellow fin Tuna in the 50 to 60lb range.

Fishing Report July 18 2012

With the fishing here in Quepos as well as Los Suenos staying great the Good Day team was able to send in great reports for both locations today as the 31' Good Day fishing out of Quepos was able to land 3 nice yellow fin tunas in the 40#-65# range, and the 36' Good Day Too fishing out of Los Suenos released 6 of 10 sailfish that they had in the spread. They also reported that the weather is just perfect, with calm seas that's always good to hear, great job guys.

Mid July the fishing really heats up as the Marlin are keeping everyone on their toes here in Costa Rica!!

Fishing report for July 8 - 14 2012

Fishing in Costa Rica is always a great way to spend your holiday, but this week there has been some amazing offshore fishing reports coming in from the central Pacific in Costa Rica

There are 2 fishing reports that we think you should know about or sure for this week and one was towards the end of the week where one fishing boat in a single day managed to go 2 for 5 on Blue Marlin... yes 2 for 5 on Blue Marlin do we need to even mention what else happened this day fishing? OK well maybe we should they also went 4 for 8 on Sailfish to make this day of fishing one that I am sure will be remembered for these clients for a very long time.

Fishing a few days earlier in the week another fishing report of an amazing catch was a charter boat out of Los Suenos going 2 for 3 on Blue Marlin, 7 for 10 on Sailfish and putting a close to #100 Yellow fin tuna on the boat for supper. another fantastic day of fishing in Costa Rica!

Fishing report for Costa Rica July 1 - 7 2012

Fishing reports again started out strong here in Costa Rica for July. The offshore bit is staying strong with boats reporting multiple Sailfish hook up and releases on daily charters as well as some really nice Yellow fin tuna that are still in the area.

Fishing in-shore seems to be where the best action has been for the start of the month. Fishing boats going in-shore have been tearing it up all over the pacific side of Costa Rica, with some monster Roosterfish as well as multiple species of snapper as well as Jack Crevalle in the mix.

Fishing Costa Rica Report for June 2012

Fishing Charters Costa Rica fishing reports for June 2012 and we all hope that this month the bite stays good as the season moves forward. So far this month there has been a continued great Mahi Mahi bite, a good Wahoo bite as well as Yellow fin Tuna and Sailfish.

Fishing Costa Rica Fishing report June 21 - 30 2012

Fishing Charters Costa Rica finished off the month of June with a bang, we had a great bite all over the Pacific coast from the very south to the north everyone was sending in great reports of multiple Sailfish releases as well as Tuna, Dorado to top off the offshore bite.

In-shore is where the you wanted to be in the last 10 days.... wow some of the Roosterfish that the fleets of fishing boats were releasing was amazing, not only the numbers that were released but also the sizes were huge!! I guess there is some days when you not only get cake... but get to eat it too, and that's what the Roosterfish were thinking as they were not letting the baits rest they just kept hammering them.

Fishing Costa Rica Fishing report June 14 - 20 2012

Fishing report for the past few days have been all about the Yellow Fin Tunas, there has been some big schools around even making some boats do a short run after starting out their days in-shore. When you pick up and do a 15 mile run here you know that you are going to get, and that's a pile of good fishing!!

Fishing Costa Rica lately has produced not only some great numbers being caught but some great size Yellow Fin Tuna as well, there have been a few well over 100# so the fish has been on for clients that were luck to be a part of these great fishing frenzy's offshore fishing in Costa Rica.

The Sailfish and Marlin bite was a little slow this week but with the action with the Tunas there was no complaints.

In-shore fishing in Costa Rica this week was again at a nice consistent bite, not really a hot bite for any certain species just a good mixed variety of the in-shore fishery Costa Rica has to offer such as Snook, Roosterfish and Snapper to start of the list.

If you are looking for a Fishing Costa Rica Fishing Adventure than that's what you got this week without a doubt thanks for coming to Costa Rica and we hope to see you soon!

Fishing Costa Rica Fishing report June 13 2012

Fishing today we had a father and son go out on the Mirce Azul and knew that they were going to have a good day out on the water with this great crew.

Fishing Costa Rica Report for May 30 2012

Fishing Charters Costa Rica was day 3 of 3 for the offshore fishing that this group planned to do on their Fishing Holiday here in Quepos with us. Well another slow bite today had this group looking for any signs of a bite.

After raising a few Sailfish in the morning they were hoping for a nice afternoon bite and that things would pick up for them, and then all of a sudden they could see action, and as they saw the marlin come into the spread just as fast it was gone. After a couple of circles and a lot of eyes scanning the water for any sign of movement, nothing stirred and you could feel their hearts drop back into their chests.

Marlin are sneaky creatures and all of a sudden the water exploded and that was followed by the sound of a reel screaming as the big Marlin had no plans of sticking around and the fisht was on!! After a good fight and a couple really nice jumps close to the boat the last jump he managed to spit out the hook and was on his way home.

Fishing Costa Rica Report for May 28 2012

Fishing day 2 of their Costa Rica Fishing Holiday the plan today was day 2 of their 3 days of offshore fishing here in Quepos. After not being able to release any Sailfish or Marlin on day 1 the expectations were high for the crew today to put Sailfish in the boat.

Experienced crew always seem to have a way of producing fish even when the bite is slow and today was definitely one of those days where you manage to try almost everything you have. At the end of the day the group managed to raise 3 Sailfish and released 1 of 2 hooked and put a BIG Mahi-Mahi in the boat to end a successful day of fishing.

As we move into a new season here in Costa Rica, it is now coming the Costa Rica winter months and we hope that the fishing continues to get better as the season moves on.

More is known about the country after the arrival of Christopher Columbus in 1502, who gladly accepted gold from the local Indians and went home to tell those in Spain about the bountiful riches found here.

After a few centuries of colonization by the Spanish, Central America gained its independence in 1821 and Costa Rica joined a new confederation of Central American states. Through the 1800s, public education was expanded and the coffee industry grew immensely.

Fishing in Quepos today looked like it was going to be a great day, what a beautiful morning here in Quepos. Today we had return clients back with us from Flamingo where the red tide is so bad the fishing is horrible so they drove to Quepos to come fish with us.

The plan was for two full days one offshore and one in-shore depending on how the fishing reports were from today, and well the offshore reports today for them was not good, going 0 for 3 on Sailfish the anglers were not really happy at the end of the day but as any angler know that's why we call it fishing and not catching right?

Other Fishing Offshore boats today had similar results with very small fish counts, most boat raising from 1-3 Sailfish. Fastrak was 2 for 3 on Sailfish with only 4 raised.

Fishing Charters Quepos we had a group of 6 on the Costa Brava with Captain Melvin and what a day they had with him. A day fishing with Captain Melvin is always an experience as you just never know what to expect, he just seems to always be at the right place at the right time. The Costa Brava managed to raise 12 Sailfish, and released 4 of the 8 that they had hooked up. Great day guys!

Fishing in Quepos on the Fastrak today we had a group of 3 one of which was a return client that fished with us last year. They had a great day on the Fastrak with us, it's always nice to be able to get out of the heat in that nice Air Conditioned Cabin! After a great start with 2 Marlin crashing the spread they both managed to escape us without getting hooked up. Then right after lunch the Sailfish started to get hungry and it was like rapid fire for 3 straight hook ups one after the other and then there was a lull until mid afternoon when we picked up another great Sailfish. Fish totals for today was 10 Sailfish raised, 4 of 8 hooked were released at the Fastrak, and 0 for 2 on Marlin and this was the heartbreaker. Another great day on the Fastrak Fishing here in Quepos

We had a couple of boats out for us again today here in Quepos. We had a couple out on the 34' Sea Lady and what a day they had, they almost booked the next day before they got off the boat!! The Marlin didn't stay on for too long but they still got to feel the raw power that Marlin Possess.

Return client from earlier in the week managed to talk a couple others to join him for another day of fishing in Quepos and they went out on the Thresher for a 3/4 day in shore fishing. They got what they wanted as they released 2 Roosterfish and got a great Red Snapper for supper.
